Juniata Co. Library
The kids have been coming to the library in droves over the last few weeks! We had over 60 kids join us last week to learn about turtles with Teddi, and 75 children with us last week for both our morning and afternoon ice cream making sessions.
Thanks again to Teddi, and the helpers from the Juniata County Conservation District, for making the turtle presentation, as well as our stream study for teens, possible.
Children’s book author Artie Bennett was scheduled to visit the library for “Our Berserk Bodies.” Bennett is the author of “Poopendous,” “Peter Panda Melts Down,” and the forthcoming “Belches, Burps, and Farts, Oh My!”
Next week, we’ll be taking a look at forensics in a presentation for teens ages 13 and up at 1 p.m. on July 30.
At 2 p.m. on Aug. 1, Adam Swartz will be here with puppets for a show for all ages.
Aug. 1 is also when our adult Summer Reading Program participants can begin turning in their reading logs and book bingo sheets for entries into the end-of-summer prize drawing. Each book read, and each bingo scored, will equal one entry into a drawing for the end of summer reading prize, a Kindle Fire, provided for us by our Friends of the Library group.
Our Summer Reading Program may still be in full swing, but we’re already looking forward to fall programs here at the library. We’ll be resuming our storytimes for children and toddlers in September, and we’re also looking forward to the beginning of a new program here at the library, a Teen Reading Lounge series, as well as resuming our Teen Advisory Council. Keep an eye on our Facebook page, as well as this column, for more information on all fall programs.
