Himeses celebrate 50th anniversary
Dana L. (Middleswarth) and G. Eli Himes Sr., of Reedsville, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
They were married on Oct. 26, 1968, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewistown, by the Rev. Andrew Horn.
Their special anniversary was celebrated with a surprise open house, hosted by their children and families, earlier in the month.
They are the parents of a son, Eli Himes Jr., and his wife, Cheryl, of Yeagertown; and a daughter, Gina M. Snyder, and her husband, Clint, of Lewistown.
They have three grandsons: Trystan Snyder, Elijah Himes and Austin Himes.
As a golden anniversary gift to themselves, the couple is taking their grandsons to Universal and Disney parks this month.
Eli served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971, and is retired from Standard Steel.
Dana retired as a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.
They are members of Trinity United Church of Christ.
They attribute the success of their marriage to faith, family, friendship, fun and spending quality time together and with family.
