April Burgess, of Gettysburg, and Christopher Bender, of York, were married on June 22, 2013, at Grace United Methodist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Louis and Linda Burgess, of Hallstead. The groom is the son of Richard and Kay Bender, of Lewistown.
Janet Redding, of East Berlin, was the matron of honor.
The best man was Wade Lindstrom.
Bridesmaids were Valerie Burgess, of Factoryville, sister of the bride; Terri Westfall, of Littlestown; and Stephanie Lawson, of Reedsville, sister of the groom.
The flower girl was Kaitlyn Synnamon, of Gettysburg.
Ushers were Paul Grego, of Lewistown; Scott Reichart, of Camp Hill, uncle of the groom; and Trevor Lawson, of Reedsville, brother-in-law of the groom.
The ring bearer was Zander Lawson, of Reedsville, nephew of the groom.
The Rev. Richard J. Bender and Rev. Mark Brower performed the ceremony that also included Stephanie Punchard as pianist, and Krista Kriel as violist.
A reception followed as Lewistown Recreational Center.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Montrose High School and a 1998 graduate of Penn State University. She is employed as a first grade teacher at Fairfield Elementary School.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Indian Valley High School and a 2009 graduate of York Technical Institute. He is employed as an assistant golf course superintendent at Heritage Hills Golf Resort.
Following a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., they live in Gettysburg.
