Heikeses celebrate 50th anniversary

Raymond and Virginia Heikes, of Mifflintown, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Nov. 22, 1963, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Licking Creek by Rev. Paul DeLauter.

The special anniversary was celebrated with a surprise party hosted by their children at the Walker Grange, with family and friends present.

They are the parents of three children: Raym Heikes, of Lewistown; Tom Heikes, and wife, Tammy, of Mifflintown; and, Sue Snyder, of Mifflintown.

They have seven grandchildren: Jamon and Janae Heikes, Christina, Tony and Jared Heikes, and Hayley and Brandon Snyder; and four great-grandchildren: Vivian Searer, Chance and Chase Wilson, and Szander Heikes.

Raymond retired from the Juniata County School District and served in the U.S. Army. Virginia retired from Zemco Inc. and is employed at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.
